Josh K. Schlieman, CFP®
Managing Partner, Wealth Advisor
Josh Schlieman is the managing partner and wealth advisor at Schlieman Wealth, where he works closely with individuals and families to provide thoughtful, comprehensive financial guidance. His approach is rooted in long-term relationships, careful planning, and helping clients make confident decisions through every stage of life.
With experience spanning his entire professional career, Josh advises clients across a broad range of planning needs, including retirement income planning, estate and tax-aware strategies, and portfolio construction and management. He believes effective wealth management begins with understanding each client’s priorities and aligning financial strategies with what matters most to them.
Josh holds his Series 7, Series 24 and Series 65 securities registrations with LPL Financial, as well as life, health, sickness, and variable insurance licenses. He earned his bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) in Finance from the University of Georgia and completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification program through Oglethorpe University.
Prior to co-founding Sullivan & Schlieman Wealth Management, Josh served as Assistant Vice President at SunTrust Investment Services from 2003 to 2008. That experience helped shape his disciplined, client-centered approach to planning and investment management.
Deeply committed to the Gainesville and Hall County communities, Josh has long believed that stewardship extends beyond financial planning. He has served in numerous leadership and volunteer roles, including board president for Habitat for Humanity of Hall County. He also is a member of the Greater Hall County Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Gainesville.
Josh is a graduate of Leadership North Fulton and Leadership Hall, and he remains engaged with organizations that strengthen the local community.
Josh and his wife, Crystal, live in Gainesville with their three children, Alex, Allizah, and Avery. Outside the office, Josh’s time is centered around family. You’ll often find him at a ball field watching his children compete, coaching youth sports, traveling, or cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs. The Schlieman family are active members of North Hall Church, where they participate in a variety of church activities and community outreach.
Austin M. Schlieman
Partner, Wealth Advisor
Austin Schlieman is a Partner and Wealth Advisor at Schlieman Wealth, where he works closely with clients and the advisory team to deliver thoughtful, comprehensive financial planning and investment management. His role supports every stage of the planning process, from developing client relationships and constructing portfolios to implementing financial strategies and executing trades—with a focus on consistency, discipline, and long-term outcomes.
Austin advises clients across a wide range of planning needs, including retirement income planning, estate planning strategies, and strategic and tactical portfolio management. He brings a collaborative mindset to his work, helping ensure each client’s plan is carefully aligned with their goals and evolving circumstances.
Austin earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Georgia and holds Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations held with LPL Financial, as well as life, health, sickness, and variable insurance licenses.
Before joining the firm in 2021, Austin spent more than eight years at BlackRock, one of the world’s largest investment management firms. During his tenure, he held a variety of sales and portfolio management roles across multiple office locations, including Boston, Princeton, Charlotte, and Atlanta. Most recently, Austin served as an investment professional on BlackRock’s pension OCIO team, which managed approximately $30 billion in assets for defined benefit plans across the United States and Mexico. This experience shaped his institutional-level perspective on portfolio construction, risk management, and disciplined investment oversight.
Austin is active in the North Georgia community and believes in giving back through service. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Center Point, a Gainesville-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting student and family success through education and personal development. He also is a graduate of the Leadership Jackson Class of 2023, a program designed to cultivate informed, engaged community leaders.
In addition, Austin serves on the Board of Directors for the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia, where he volunteers his time in support of the organization’s mission to protect and care for neglected and abandoned animals throughout the region.
Austin lives in Jefferson, Georgia, with his wife, Caitlyn. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, cooking, and attending University of Georgia football games. A proud uncle to eight nieces and nephews, Austin spends many weekends cheering them on at their sporting events.
Colette C. Hollifield, MBA
Director of Operations
Colette Hollifield serves as Director of Operations at Schlieman Wealth, where she plays a central role in ensuring the firm’s day-to-day operations run seamlessly while continually enhancing the client experience. With a strong foundation in both accounting and leadership, Colette brings structure, clarity, and consistency to internal processes and client-facing operations.
Colette is responsible for implementing strategic solutions that support Schlieman Wealth’s long-term vision, streamlining operational workflows, and maintaining a high standard of service. She oversees office operations and financial administration, including benefits and retirement plans, coordinates advisor schedules, prepares portfolio review materials, and leads a team of operations associates. Through her leadership, she fosters a collaborative, organized, and forward-thinking environment that allows advisors to remain focused on serving clients.
Colette is also deeply involved in developing and supporting client relationships. From onboarding new clients to addressing ongoing service needs, she serves as a trusted point of contact and an integral part of the client experience, ensuring each interaction reflects the Schlieman Wealth’s commitment to thoughtful, personalized service.
Colette joined Sullivan & Schlieman Wealth Management in 2011 after working for the Forsyth County Tax Commissioner’s Office, where she developed a strong appreciation for precision, accountability, and public service. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from North Georgia College and State University and later completed her Master of Business Administration at the same institution.
Outside the office, Colette lives in the North Hall community with her husband, Daniel, and their two children, Harbor and Holt. Her family enjoys spending time on the lake, traveling, and hunting. The Hollifields’ are active members of their church and regularly serve in the children’s ministry.
Colette also enjoys being involved in her children’s school and extracurricular activities, and she currently serves as Vice President of the North Hall Community Education Foundation, supporting educational opportunities and initiatives that strengthen the local community.
Katie T. Mathis
Wealth Planning Coordinator
Katie T. Mathis is a Wealth Planning Coordinator at Schlieman Wealth, where she plays a key role in supporting advisors and delivering a seamless client experience. Her work spans both planning and implementation, helping ensure financial strategies are executed thoughtfully and efficiently.
In her role, Katie assists with trade-related activities, prepares portfolio review materials, and helps build personalized financial plans tailored to each client’s goals. She also serves as a primary point of contact for many client service needs, including account deposits and contributions, account transfers for prospective and existing clients, and a wide range of advisor and client requests. Her attention to detail and steady follow-through ensures each client interaction reflects Schlieman Wealth’s commitment to clarity and care.
Katie holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial, along with life, health, sickness, and variable insurance licenses.
She joined Sullivan & Schlieman Wealth Management in 2019, bringing a diverse professional background to her role. She previously worked as a commercial project manager with Clear Rate Communications in Troy, Michigan, where she developed strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills that continue to serve her well in financial planning operations. Katie graduated cum laude from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Art Marketing.
Katie lives in Dawson County, Ga., with her husband, Brady, and their two sons, Mason and Blaney. Outside the office, she enjoys staying active, traveling, and cheering on her favorite teams, which include the Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines. Family and community are central to Katie’s life, and she is deeply involved in her church, Juno Baptist, where she and her husband serve as youth ministry leaders. They also enjoy volunteering at their local food bank.
